Funds for Briargate Elementary Outreach in 2017

       Mark Mounts

Hello once again from Community Christian Fellowship,

I’m writing to share some exciting news! In November, I sent out a letter to people who have donated to our congregation in the past and shared the outreach that we are involved in regarding helping Briargate Elementary School. Well, the response was overwhelming!

Last November I told you that we were able to supply backpacks to all of the 5th graders in the school over their Thanksgiving break. Those backpacks contained personal hygiene items for the students.

Now we have been told by the administration at the school that many of these students depend on their school meal program as their primary source for meals. So, when they are at home during their breaks, there is the unfortunate reality that many of them go hungry. But now, as a result of your miraculous generosity, we will be able to supply gift sacks filled with food over the coming spring break for ALL of the students at Briargate Elementary. That means we will be handing out over 470 gift bags containing food–EVERY student will receive one.

As I have stated before, we moved our congregation into Briargate after much prayer and council. We had faith that God would open the doors and show us the needs of this community according to HIS will, not ours. And we truly believe this is what He is doing. None of us on the Leadership Team ever imagined that the place where we could help would be a school. But as one very wise person told me, “God had a different idea”.

So, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU to all of you who made such a financial sacrifice that will allow us to minister to and assist a very special group of young people at Briargate Elementary.

I will keep you up to date on how our outreach ministries are going in future newsletters. But in the mean time, PLEASE pray that God continues to open doors for us to share His love and grace to others, and that we have the humility and the love to see His will for this community, and not our own. I believe to the depth of my soul that this is why He has shed His marvelous grace upon us…so we can lovingly give to others. And, thanks to all of your prayers and donations, that giving is happening.

Until next time,

Pastor Mark

Get Involved In Our School Outreach

Mark2016Hello once again from Community Christian Fellowship,

I want to bring everyone up to date on a project we have been working on for a few months.

Through several emails, meetings and prayers, Briargate Elementary in the Ft. Bend Independent School District has accepted an offer that we made as a congregation to assist their fifth grade class. We will be providing small “zip string” packs filled with several personal hygiene items for them to use over the fall break. These packs will be presented to the class members on the morning of November 18th. We plan on having a “pot-luck” meal and activity to help fill the backpacks with the items on October 30th. If you would like to help we would love to see you there. In the meantime, if you want to help financially you can send donations to:

Community Christian Fellowship
P.O. Box 2244
League, TX 77574-2244

Or you can go to our website and donate through Pay Pal on the “donation” tab.Another member and I also attended a luncheon for an organization called “GPS” which stands for “Grandparents Support Groups”. This group’s goal is to be a support for grandparents who find themselves in the position of primary provider for their grandchildren. They did not ask for this responsibility, but out of love they have taken it on.  Most of these children are special needs behaviorally.  We are considering providing a place to start a new group for these Grandparents in the Ft. Bend County area.  This is still in the discussion stages.  We are asking for your prayers regarding both of these areas  that God has opened up for us.

In the book of John, Jesus told His disciples that the crops are “ripe for harvest” but the workers are few. If you do want to be involved in what we are doing for the community, you are always welcome at our services, and we would love to have you. There is something real and true about helping others—if your heart is being moved to do so…come join us.

Until next time,

Pastor Mark
