      Dearly beloved:

First of all, I like to thank each and every one of you for all your prayers and economic support; for all those prayers are honored in heaven as precious jewels, and they don’t ever stop until they reach the very throne of God; actions in heaven begin when someone prays on earth. On my way back to Houston I started to think that my only purpose as God’s missionary is to plant the seed wherever I go and the Lord will produce the fruit. His plan is to save the lost. The center theme of the Bible is salvation through faith in Christ. Every moment of our lives, the enemy of our souls has no higher goal than to take away the divine seed planted in our hearts, to change us from being Sons of God to sons of his malignant devices. Satan has no power except that which God gives him. But Jesus uses Satan to fortify His Church. His Grace enables us to live now in a wise and correct way to serve Him. Because the supreme force in salvation is God’s Grace. I, as His servant, lack faith and power to even do a simple task therefore, without Him I can’t do anything. Thus, to be really effective as His witness I must trust my Lord Jesus with all my heart; I must always remember that my Maker is also my friend and brother. In Him all is well. I must share my life with Him, see Him in everything I do, and rejoice in the fact that He’s my All in All. I must go forward, unafraid, knowing that He is in complete control of everything, and presenting His Good News to the world. To count all things as loss so that I may gain His Son in my life. But you know, If we want to have success in the mountains of Mexico the most important is to be obedient to His calling; the question is will we obey? Walking the path of discipleship is not easy. We should make an effort to keep our minds and hearts always focused on Jesus, to be in perfect harmony with God’s Son in mind and heart, always.

The trip to the Town of Tepeyac, State of Guerrero in the Mexican Republic was an excellent place to test our faith and obedience: in this part of the mountains we encountered lots of witchcraft, sorcery, divination, etc. For the first time we even had some guards posted around the outreach site. Each chief sorcerer had a “clientele” they like to keep at all costs, even by killing another chief by beheading him with his machete.

NOTE: This is the first trip we had the largest contingent of servers: a total of 65 persons. From ASF 36, from the Tlapaneco Church Alliance a total of 20 and the local church 9. There was also the largest number of Doctors (9) and Dentists (7), as well as 2 Optometrists.

21 April/0600 hrs:  A convoy of 1 bus (to carry all personnel and luggage) and a van (to carry dental equipment) left for our destination: a Town called Tepeyac located in the State of Guerrero, Republic of Mexico. After approximately 3 hours of traveling we stopped at a gas station where 20 more persons in 4 vehicles joined our caravan. These individuals came from Mexico City to be part of our evangelistic campaign. In one of the vans was traveling the Director of the Tlapaneco Indian Ministry in the State of Guerrero where there are now 20 established churches and 40 missions in the region. Unloaded everything and set up all clinics.

NOTE: Two (2) days previous to the start of our trip, a truck was loaded with all the   equipment and supplies and transported it to the Town of Tepeyac.

22 April/06:30 hrs:  Wake up call 7:30 a.m., devotional 8:00 a.m. breakfast, and 9:00 a.m. start work. Same itinerary for every day that followed.

In the Clinic of the Soul (Evangelism) we had a total of 73 rejections to Christ; a very large percentage maybe due to the diabolical influence in the area. We also had to use interpreters for some of the older part of the population, but the rest of them were bilingual. We found that most of the young folks had very limited reading skills. Also, we also “re-evangelized” 91 persons pronouncing themselves to be Christians: they all had very limited and very minimal understanding of the Gospel and Bible knowledge. This is unsatisfactory because it points to a Pastor that’s either irresponsible or lacks Bible training. This was made known to the Director of the Tlapaneco Indian Ministry.

NOTE: A young Tlapaneco missionary woman left her residence in Canada to come to evangelize her own people, saying that she found this to be her calling. Just like Joseph, she preferred to say NO to a better living, than to minimize her responsibilities towards her own kind. She wants to dedicate the rest of her life to proclaim Jesus to the people of Tepeyac and throughout that part of the mountains.

23 April:  This was the first time that a young woman receiving Jesus in her heart, while I was presenting her God’s plan of salvation, wrote down all the Bible references I mentioned. She asked me for a Bible to study every day to verify everything I said was true, and continue growing in Grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. This reminded me of the Berean Church; they were always searching the Scriptures for God’s Truth.

24 April/9:00p.m.  The local authorities publicaly knowledged their gratitute and appreciation for all the services their town received in these past 3 days, and invited us to return at any time in the future. Then, we proceeded to dismantle all installation to be ready to leave next morning. All material and equipment was loaded in a truck which will transport it to Cuernavaca during the day or the next.

25 April/6 a.m.  Left the outreach site, and after 9 hours we arrived at ASF’s Headquarters in the City of Cuernavaca.  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, BY THE GRACE OF GOD.

.                                                  STATISTICS

MEDICAL CLINIC:  A total of 406 patients were seen (16 surgeries). Three (3) persons were transferred to a Hospital in the City of Tlapa.

DENTAL CLINIC: A total of 244 persons examined who received 427 treatments.

OPTOMETRY CLINIC:  Patients 188 and 144 persons received lenses.

SOCIAL WORK: Distributed dozens of Bibles, New Testaments and plenty of other literature. A total of 80 sacks containing clothing, shoes and toys were given to the people. Also, a total of 67 hair cuts were provided.

EVANGELISM:  A total of 310 persons received the Lord Jesus in their hearts and many more were touched by God’s Holy Spirit.

To all persons interested to travel with us, I wish to let you know that again I traveled by bus. It took me 24 hours to get to Cuernavaca and 29 hours to return to Houston; reason being the crossing of the border between Mexico and the United States was very slow and crowded with many vehicles.

WE ASK ALL INDIVIDUALS, CHURCHES, CONGREGATIONS THAT RECEIVE THIS REPORT, TO FORWARD SAME TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, SO THAT THESE MINISTRIES CAN BE KNOWN MORE AND MORE, IN ORDER TO INCREASE PRAYERS AND DONATIONS, SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE WITH THIS LABOR OF LOVE.

TOGETHER, WE CAN CHANGE MANY LIVES.  MANY BLESSINGS FOR EACH OF YOU.

     Sincerely,

       Raul G. Sifuentes
