Hello once again from
Community Christian Fellowship,
This Sunday, Christian churches
around the world will celebrate
one of the most significant days
in the Christian tradition;
Easter. On this day we celebrate
the resurrection of our lord and
savior Jesus Christ. With this
in mind, it's important that we
think about what this means for
all of us.
Jesus did not come just for
Christians. They didn't exist
before his birth. He came for
all people; past, present in his
day, and future. His world view
of what he was doing was not
bound by religion, race, gender,
income, social class, or status.
He came with the thought of
saving all of mankind-period. He
was God incarnate. He was God
who transcended his reality of
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and
entered into the realm of what
he created. The creator dwelt
with the created.
Why would He do this? Both
the Jewish cultures and the
gentile cultures believed that
the human life was way below the
reality of God. But Jesus "broke
all the rules" in a way. He
shattered the religious and
philosophical beliefs that had
existed for thousands of years.
His existence broke the ideas
that said that God would never
have anything directly to do
with us as humans. Did anybody
ever suspect that God would come
down to our level? But he did,
in the person of Jesus Christ.
He came to this earth, born as
an infant, lived a human life,
was brutally murdered, and then
was resurrected three days after
He was killed. He, God in the
flesh, lived a human life
without sin. Why?
where we are. He loves so
much that he entered our pain,
suffering, worry, grief, abuse,
and injustice. And, by doing so,
he "fixed" what was wrong. He
re-instated the perfect
relationship between the created
realm and God. They are now the
same. But, we in the created
realm are waiting for the
fullness of what God has in
store for us. That's why Easter
is SO important.
When he was resurrected, he
showed us all that this life
will not end with our death; God
has much more in store for us.
He will resurrect those who
trust him with this process.
And, he will change our bodies
into a glorified state that will
live forever in his literal
presence. Through Jesus, we are
now at one with the Father once
again. He was the second Adam,
he is the beginning and the end,
he is the "I AM". He is reality
now, this new reality is now in
our lives through the guidance
of the Holy Spirit in our hearts
as we wait for the fullness that
God has in store for us.
So, as we celebrate Easter,
let us be thankful. Yes, we have
many trials and tests in this
life, but Jesus told us not to
worry, he's already "fixed
them". I pray this Easter is the
most blessed and inspirational
that you have had. May God guide
you and strengthen you as we
await the fullness of what He
has in store for those who
understand how much he really
loves us all. Until next time,
Pastor Mark
